DESIGN-BUILD REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQs) BIDDERS ARE CAUTIONED TO CAREFULLY EXAMINE THE REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) AND REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) BEFORE BIDDING. Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the City of Los Angeles will solicit Statement of Qualifications (SOQs) and bids from the District’s list of pre-qualified contractors to furnish the design and construction for the following: BID NUMBER: R-26059 (2610097) Electrification Charging Stations Project at Sun Julian Bus Yard (10377747 ) . The anticipated budget for the design and construction, inclusive of all costs associated to the project, is approximately $22 Million. THE PROJECT WILL BE USING THE DESIGN-BUILD PROCUREMENT METHOD PERMITTED UNDER CALIFORNIA EDUCATION CODE 17250 ET. SEQ., IS FUNDED BY PROPOSITIONS WHICH WERE APPROVED BY THE VOTERS AND IS SUBJECT TO THE PROJECT STABILIZATION AGREEMENT. NON-mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be held ON MONDAY, JUNE 15, 2026, AT 10:00 A.M. (PDT), VIA TEAMS video conference . STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS ARE DUE: no later than 11:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 . Bidder should note that OWNER’s prequalification program has been expanded pursuant to Public Contract Code 20111.6 to include mechanical, electrical and plumbing subcontractors, holding C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46 licenses. Bidders who will be utilizing a first-tier subcontractor to perform such specialty work must select a subcontractor from the OWNER’s List of Prequalified Subcontractors . Effective March 1, 2015, a contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on or be listed in a bid proposal unless currently registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). For any contract awarded on or after April 1, 2015, a contractor or subcontractor shall not engage in the performance of any contract unless currently registered with the DIR. The Los Angeles Unified School District has a Labor Compliance Program as approved by the Director of the Department of Industrial relations and the Board of Education in compliance with Section 1771.5 of the California Labor Code.
