The City of Oakland (City) Public Works Bureau of Environment, Parks & Tree Division is soliciting bid proposals from qualified firms to supply high-quality rock and soil products. The Parks & Tree Division (“Division”) has jurisdiction over the landscape and hardscape in City of Oakland (“City”) parks and outdoor playing fields and is responsible for their general maintenance and upkeep. The Division is in current need of establishing a pool of vendors who can supply high-quality rock and soil products that are needed to effectively maintain over 125 City parks and playing fields.. The award will be for a two-year (2) period with an option, at the sole discretion of the City, to extend an additional one-year (1) period. There will be no guaranteed amount or duration, that will be issued each year. The estimated total dollar amount for any one year will not exceed $75,000.00 annually. The proposed work consists, in general, of renovation of the Main Library, located at 125 14th Street in Oakland, CA. The work includes, but is not limited to replacement of electrical sub-panels throughout building, replacement of lighting in the main entry lobby, reading room and mezzanine office space, replace lighting controls at the reading room, cleaning of flooring and painting in select areas of the building interior, replace select exterior doors, replace boiler controls, add HVAC split system to community room, add power and data to select areas, add ornamental security fence and gates at building exterior, add U.V. resistant film to select windows, replace reading room window coverings, and repair or replace PSL (private sewer lateral) as required by EBMUD. City has paid for Building Department permit fees. Contractor is responsible to apply for and pay all other trade permits, to complete the City's Waste Reduction & Recycling Plan for the Building Permit, and to obtain and file EBMUD PSL certification.

The City of Oakland (City) Department of Transportation (OakDOT) is soliciting proposals from professional service providers to provide technical assistance in the design and delivery of the EMBARCADERO WEST RAIL SAFETY AND ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS. The proposed project segment on Embarcadero West and contiguous block segments, between Adeline Street and Oak Street, will deliver complex transportation infrastructure elements to improve safety, strengthen connectivity, and increase access to Oakland’s Downtown, West Oakland, the Port of Oakland and the historic waterfront. The design efforts will seek to address long-standing conflicts and safety issues through corridor safety improvements and proposed grade separations. The project will install rail safety, pedestrian improvements, and "quiet zone" improvements, including a fence along the tracks at designated crossings along the Embarcadero railroad corridor. Other safety elements include, but are not limited to, geometric improvements, new and existing traffic signals, pavement engineering, green infrastructure, and utility related designs. Access for pedestrians is enhanced between downtown and the waterfront/Jack London Square by adding a Class I path (for bicyclists and pedestrians) between Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Webster Street. Included in this scope of work, feasibility studies of new and existing grade separated railroad overcrossing features will be developed and analyzed for implementation in the project area in collaboration with stakeholders. Completion of subsequent phases of the designs of these structural features are an optional task pending approval described in the detailed scope of services. Primary scope of services includes, but are not limited to, developing engineering design and cost estimates, feasibility studies and concept development, environmental clearance, stakeholder and utility owner coordination, right of way investigation and analysis, and to provide community engagement support.
