Candice Shanks, 510.238.7565, cshanks@oaklandca.gov To provide multiple departments within the City of Oakland with brand-new uniforms, measuring each employee, fitting, hemming at the start of the contract; sometimes annual, re-fitting of employees and the ability to accommodate new hires within a set timeframe. The contractor will schedule weekly pickup of soiled uniforms and delivery of clean, pressed uniforms. The contractor will perform ongoing maintenance, including repairing, sewing, and replacing torn or damaged uniforms at no extra cost. The contractor will manage inventory, tracking each employee’s uniforms (e.g., 11 sets are common, or 1 week of wear, 1 week at cleaner, 1 spare) to ensure consistent, reliable, and available stock. Worn-out or damaged uniforms must be replaced with new or "A" grade (high-quality) garments during the contract period. Uniforms must be returned clean, hygienic, and properly repaired to maintain safety and health protocols. Uniform Laundry Services will be encumbered by various Departments Citywide. Award will be made to a single vendor based on the lowest, most responsive, and responsible bid. The initial term shall be for three (3) years. At the City’s sole discretion, the contract may be renewed for up to two (2) additional one-year terms, for a total contract term not to exceed five (5) years.
