The City of Oakland is soliciting bids for Landscape and Bioretention maintenance services for the Oakland Army Base and totaling approximately 148,278 sq. ft. (3.4 acres). The Project site is comprised of Maritime Street from West Grand Avenue to 7th Street, Wake Avenue from West Grand Avenue to the EBMUD property line, Burma Road from Maritime Street to its end near the San Francisco Bay Bridge Toll Plaza, and all of Adm. Toney Way. The site is essentially flat at Elev. 10 to Elev. 12. The project provided backbone infrastructure including the bio retention facilities that were installed where new impervious surfaces were created and/ or expanded. The impervious surfaces include Burma Road, Wake Avenue, Adm. Toney Way and Maritime Street. The contractor will be required to provide a full range of landscape management and maintenance services. These services include, but are not limited to: • Maintain landscape and Bio retention areas to industry standards as well as per the recorded O&M plan • Monitor and repair irrigation systems • Maintain weed free flower beds • Prune trees and shrubbery to promote growth as needed to industry standard • Replace plant material as needed • Remove litter on a Weekly basis • Provide monthly herbicide use report as required by Department of Agriculture Each bidder shall be responsible for researching the existing conditions and matters that affect the cost or performance of the services. The Landscape Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools, services, skills, etc., required to maintain the landscape in an attractive condition throughout the contract period. Maintenance of plant materials shall include but not be limited to mowing, edging, pruning, fertilizing, watering, and cleanup.
