The Office of the Inspector General is an independent civilian oversight agency that monitors and audits the Oakland Police Department’s policies, practices, and procedures. The Office of the Inspector General may also audit the Community Police Review Agency complaint intake procedures and investigations process. The mission of the Office of the Inspector General is to ensure accountability, enhance community trust, and increase transparency via fair and thorough assessments of Oakland Police Department’s compliance with the law and departmental policies. The Office of the Inspector General is accepting proposals for a professional firm to provide auditing services and design an auditing framework that includes protocols and procedures for Staff Auditors. The proposal is to award a one-year contract with the option to extend an additional 12 months to the firm selected conforming to the RFP and City’s requirements
